Who We Are
Medusa Lacrosse & Field Hockey was established in 2011 by Jackie and Alex Fiore

Jackie Fiore Spratt – Boston College & Garden City Lax & Field Hockey Alumna

Jackie was a four year starter and captain of the GCHS Varsity Women's Lacrosse Team, a starting defender for the Long Island Yellow Jackets, a member of the National and Empire Teams, and went on to play Division 1 Lacrosse at Boston College.  Jackie’s lacrosse career was cut short due to a battle with cancer.  Now, 16 years in remission, Jackie continues to live her dream of coaching and positively influencing young athletes on a daily basis. Her coaching career started in 2004 as a Head Coach for the Long Island Yellow Jackets.  She also became Head Coach of Liberty Black Team in 2005. She has coached both Lacrosse and Field Hockey at the Garden City High School & Middle School as well as South Side High School in Rockville Centre.  Jackie is the co-founder, Director and driving force behind the success of the Medusa Lacrosse program, running clinics and camps that serve as the foundation and introduction to the game of lacrosse for hundreds of players while always finding time to spend with her husband, Chris & beautiful daughter, Georgiana.

Alex was a Garden City and Princeton University lacrosse standout.  She helped lead Princeton to back-to-back Division I National Championships in her junior and senior years.  She was named a Division I first team All-American her senior year. She landed herself in Princeton lacrosse’s record books holding records for caused turnovers and ground balls.  Alex was awarded the Emily C. Goodfellow Award for distinction in sport and demonstration of love of lacrosse and Princeton.  After graduation, Alex was hand selected and played in a game with a group of women in what was an attempt to start the first ever professional women’s lacrosse league.  Alex is a true all-around scholar athlete and also played Division I soccer at Princeton.   After graduating Princeton, Alex worked on Wall Street on the fixed income trading desk at Nomura Securities before attending Hofstra University Law School.  She now practices law full time and enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and two adorable daughters, Anastasia and Victoria.  Alex continues to share her knowledge and love of lacrosse with the next generation, as a co- founder and Director of Medusa Lacrosse.
