Medusa Lacrosse & Field Hockey was established in 2011 by Jackie and Alex Fiore
Jackie Fiore Spratt – Boston College & Garden City Lax & Field Hockey Alumna
Jackie was a four year starter and captain of the GCHS Varsity Women's Lacrosse Team, a starting defender for the Long Island Yellow Jackets, a member of the National and Empire Teams, and went on to play Division 1 Lacrosse at Boston College. Jackie’s lacrosse career was cut short due to a battle with cancer. Now, 16 years in remission, Jackie continues to live her dream of coaching and positively influencing young athletes on a daily basis. Her coaching career started in 2004 as a Head Coach for the Long Island Yellow Jackets. She also became Head Coach of Liberty Black Team in 2005. She has coached both Lacrosse and Field Hockey at the Garden City High School & Middle School as well as South Side High School in Rockville Centre. Jackie is the co-founder, Director and driving force behind the success of the Medusa Lacrosse program, running clinics and camps that serve as the foundation and introduction to the game of lacrosse for hundreds of players while always finding time to spend with her husband, Chris & beautiful daughter, Georgiana.
Alex Fiore Monte – Princeton University & Garden City Lax Alumna
Alex was a Garden City and Princeton University lacrosse standout. She helped lead Princeton to back-to-back Division I National Championships in her junior and senior years. She was named a Division I first team All-American her senior year. She landed herself in Princeton lacrosse’s record books holding records for caused turnovers and ground balls. Alex was awarded the Emily C. Goodfellow Award for distinction in sport and demonstration of love of lacrosse and Princeton. After graduation, Alex was hand selected and played in a game with a group of women in what was an attempt to start the first ever professional women’s lacrosse league. Alex is a true all-around scholar athlete and also played Division I soccer at Princeton. After graduating Princeton, Alex worked on Wall Street on the fixed income trading desk at Nomura Securities before attending Hofstra University Law School. She now practices law full time and enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and two adorable daughters, Anastasia and Victoria. Alex continues to share her knowledge and love of lacrosse with the next generation, as a co- founder and Director of Medusa Lacrosse.
Antonia Palmeri – Villanova University & Garden City Lax & Field Hockey Alumna
Nikki Sliwak – Maryland University & Wantagh Lax Alumna
Coach Nikki was apart of the number one recruiting class for 2016 women's college lacrosse. She played four years at Maryland
University from 2016 - 2020. In that time, Coach Nikki became
a two-time National Champion, two-time Big Ten Champion,
four-time Conference Champion, and two-time All-Big Ten
Scholar. Coach Nikki continued her lacrosse career by taking a
5th year at Towson University where she was first on the team
with assists & second on the team with points during her
2021 season. Nikki is currently attending Hofstra University for a master's in occupational therapy.
Hunter Bracale – Duke University Field Hockey Alumna
Coach Hunter is a graduate of Duke University, class of 2017 where she was a member of the Division 1 Duke University field hockey team. Coach Hunter competed in two Finals Fours, and achieved National finalists in 2013. In her junior and senior year at Duke University, Hunter was awarded All Region and ACC accolades. Hunter is currently the Head Coach of Manhasset Varsity Field Hockey Team & East End Field Hockey Club and is involved in USA Futures Program.
Kaelin O'Brien - Cortland University Field Hockey Alumna & Carle Place Natvie
Kaelin is a Carle Place native where she enjoyed 4 years as a varsity member along with six years of travel field hockey with the Strong Island Field Hockey Program. Kaelin was awarded with the title of captain of the field hockey team at Suny Cortland during her senior year. She graduated Cortland with a bachelors degree in mathematics and decided to attend Touro College to receive her masters in Math Education. Kaelin is currently the 8th grade field hockey coach at Carle Place Middle School.
